Mrs. Edna Lucille Cobb Whiddon, age 91, a resident of Dothan, died early Friday March 3, 2017 at the Noland Hospital after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday March 6, 2017 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend’s Ray Cobb and Michael Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in the Selma Baptist Church Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.

The family will be receiving friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Monday prior to services at Glover Funeral Home Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society, 255 Jerry Drive, Dothan, AL. 36303.

Mrs. Whiddon was born on May 11, 1925 in Houston County the daughter of Albert H. Cobb and Roxie Ann Hayes Cobb. She helped take care of her siblings while they were growing up on the farm. Mrs. Whiddon was a caregiver for all of her life helping others was what she did from early morning until late night. For many years she kept children at her home. She was a member of the Selma Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of Dothan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, Leonard Corbitt Whiddon; 4 sisters, Alma King, Ann Duke, Lillie Hayman, Johnnie Mae Cobb; 2 brothers, Rufus and Allen Cobb.

Survivors include: 2 daughters, Rebecca White and Brandy Whiddon, both of Dothan; 2 sons, Norman Whiddon, Dothan; Dennis Whiddon (Tami), Dothan; 1 sister, Sarah Douglas (M.C.), Kinsey; 3 brothers, Jessie Cobb, Dothan; Gene Cobb (Evelyn), Dothan; Jim Cobb, Carrie, Mississippi; 6 grandchildren, Justin Whiddon, Jeremy Whiddon, Laura Whiddon, Brad White, Jayme White Bedsole and Maya Neal.; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; special friend Angie Richardson.

Pallbearers will be: Justin Whiddon, Jeremy Whiddon, Adam White, Jacob Hansen, Wallace Harris and Omar Griffin.
