Life Story for Jeannine Ledbetter Straub

Jeannine Ledbetter Straub, 87 years old, of 1153 Sweetie Smith Rd., Ashford, AL (Lovetown) died at her daughter’s home after a long illness.

She was born, April 6, 1929 in Cordele, GA. She graduated from Osceola High School in Kissimmee, FL. She attended Stetson University in Deland, FL.

Family services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Kissimmee, Florida. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alacare Hospice, 3379 West Main Street, Dothan, Alabama, 36305.

She was a member of the Kissimmee Junior Woman’s Club, The Silver Spurs Riding Club, senior member of the Silver Spurs Sr. Quadrille, member of the Osceola County and the Desoto County Cattlemen’s Association, the Arcadia Riding Club and Quadrille.

She moved from FL to AL in 1959. She worked for General Telephone 9 years as a Switch Board Operator. She was a Dothan Real Estate Broker and Farm Specialist for 15 years with Jean Straub Realty. She was also member of the Houston County Cattlemen’s Association, member and a past president of the Cowbells, member of the Dothan Board of Realtors and Lady Realtors, The Alabama Farm and Land Institute, The Elks Auxiliary, The VFW and the Disabled American Veterans and was of Baptist Faith.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 48 years, Paul W. Straub and grandson Wesley Adam Deese.

She is survived by her two daughters, Rita Straub Creamer Powers of Dothan, Paula (Blue) Deese of Lovetown, AL and her Grandchildren, Connie Creamer Hasty of Dothan, Todd (Jennifer) Deese of Dothan, Amelia (Wyatt) Bass of Headland, Kimberly (Josh) Shepard of Rehobeth, her great grandchildren Courtney (Chris) Bell, Skylar Hasty, Allye and Addison Shepard, Tripp Bass and great-great granddaughters Natalyah Hasty and Mercy Bell.
