Mr. James Allen Battle, age 73, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday March 28, 2015 at the SAMC after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday March 31, 2015 in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ricky Plummer officiating and Kendall Glover directing. Burial will follow at the Memory Hill Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Glover Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. Battle was born on September 4, 1941 in Dothan the son of Dudley & Mary Louise Holland Battle. He was retired as owner of Allen Battle & Son’s Auto Transport. Mr. Battle was a member of the Mt. Enon Baptist Church and was attending Bethel Baptist Church for the past few years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dudley and a brother, Paul Battle.

Survivors include: Wife, Dorenda Battle, Dothan; 3 son’s, Paul Battle, Smyrna, Ga.; Donald Battle (Tina), The Woodlands, Tx.; Jeffrey Battle (Beth), Dothan; Mother, Louise Battle, Dothan; 2 sisters, Barbara Buckhalt (Willette), Ashford; Glenda Jordan, Dothan; 4 grandchildren, Hannah Battle, Lucy Battle, Brad Battle, Hudson Battle; several nieces & nephews.

Pallbearer's will be: Blake Forrester, Thad Taylor, David Andrews, Troy Jones, Jay Nelson, Todd Bridges, Dean Williams and Chip Vann.
