Mrs. Ila Orene Goan, age 98, a resident of Cottonwood (formerly of Chattanooga, Tn.) died early Friday January 2, 2014 at the home of her son after an extended illness.

Cremation services will be handled by Glover Funeral Home. Family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Goan was born on December 4, 1916 in Chipley, Florida the daughter of William Gillis Malloy and Jennie Peel Malloy. Mrs. Goan was a homemaker most of her lifetime and she was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack where she and her husband were stationed with the U.S. Navy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donal Lea Goan and a infant son, Michael Standridge.

Survivors include: son, Donal Goan (Eileen), Cottonwood; a sister, Billie Lyles, Chattanooga, Tn.
