Mrs. Arter Lee Shields Hendrix, age 91, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday December 10, 2014 at Wesley Manor after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday December 17, 2014 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.

The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel. Flowers will be accepted.

Mrs. Hendrix was born on February 26, 1923 the daughter of Levi and Saffria Underwood Shields. She was a former resident of Baptist Village prior to moving to Wesley Manor 3 years ago. Mrs. Hendrix moved to Dothan from Hartford in 1963 and she was a retired Lab Technician and retired from Flowers Hospital after 20 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rex Hendrix; infant brother, Jack Shields;

Survivors include: son, Steve Hendrix, Dothan; daughter, Sonja Peters (Dan), Dothan; a sister, Nelda Kelley (Herman), Dothan; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
