Mr. Emory Duncan Owens, Jr., age 69, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness.

The family will have a private memorial service.

Mr. Owens was born November 28, 1944 in Pelham, GA, the son of Emory Duncan Owens, Sr. and Mildred Virginia Morey Owens. He was a manager in the retail industry for many years. Emory was a graduate of Pelham High School in Pelham, GA. He was of the Baptist faith.

Emory was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his wife of 45 years, Shirley Ann Hays Owens; two sons, Steve Owens (Sheri) and Craig Owens, both of Abbeville; a brother, Bobby Owens (Sharon) of Leesburg, GA; eight grandchildren, Victoria Barfield (Travis), Scott Owens, Casey Kirkman (Matthew), Logan Molton, Corey Owens, Caitlyn Owens, Keisha Tully and Krystal Brogdon; four great-grandchildren, Christopher Barfield, Skylar Brogdon, Keegan-Jace Tully and Hunter Brogdon.
