Lawrence William Monk known as Larry passed away at home in Dothan June 5, 2017. He was 82.

Larry was born October 3, 1934 in Homestead Pennsylvania. Larry served in the US Army Paratroops 1954-57. He attended Florida State University where he received his BS Degree. He aslo attended University of Florida Law School and then received his MBA at Troy University. He was employed with The US Dept. of Labor Wage and Hour Division from which he retired. Larry lived a lifestyle of physical fitness via exercise and diet. He will be sadly missed.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Mathew Lawrence Monk and mother, Josephine U. Savolskis.

Survivors include; sister, Marcia Louise Rankin, St. Petersburg FL; son Marshall L. Monk, Clayton, AL; daughter, Jonnie Jo Cox, Dothan AL; Grandchildren, Lauren Dunn (Brady), Stephanie Monk, Wes Cox and Austin Cox; Great-Grandchildren, Braylor and Braxley Dunn and other extended family and friends.
