Life Story for Eva Hobbs Howell

Eva Hobbs  Howell
Mrs. Eva Hobbs Howell, age, 74, a resident of Houston County, went to be with the Lord after an extended illness at Flowers Hospital on Thursday, April 13, 2017.

Eva’s Celebration of Life will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Royce Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery near Ashford with Kendall Glover directing. Pallbearers will be Kevin Butler, Jack Collins, Donnie Hoffer, Billy Burch, Matthew Shiver and Jeff Baxter.

The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 500 Office Park Drive, Suite 200, Birmingham, Alabama, 35223.

Eva was born March 27, 1943, in Houston County the daughter of the late Horace C and Eva B Hobbs. She was a retired bus driver with the Dothan City School system. Eva was called “Nanny” by many a child and to her family she was “Nanny Pearl”. Ms. Howell was a member of the Rocky Creek United Methodist Church in Ashford. Eva loved being outdoors and fishing was her favorite. She had a love for gospel and country music.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband Sterling Howell, Jr., and two sisters, Sara Hobbs Shiver and Elaine Hobbs Enfinger.

Survivors include: 3 daughters, Edith Howell, Dothan; Starla (Mark) Money, Cottonwood; and Vanessa (Eddie) Andrews, Ashford; 2 brothers, Buddy (Jean) Hobbs, Wiersdale, FL and Horace D Hobbs, Mt. Dora, Florida; 3 grandchildren, Elisha Hollis, Lee Howell and Austin Andrews; 3 great-grandchildren; a special nephew and niece, Andy and Stacey Hobbs of Rehobeth and a special great niece Paige Hobbs, Rehobeth.
