Mr. Gregory Thomas “Tommy” Simpler, age 64, a resident of Dothan, died Friday March 17, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness.

Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 19,2017 at Glover Funeral Home with Chaplain Kevin Kelly officiating and Kendall Glover directing.

The family will be receiving friends following the services at Glover Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred (Gentiva) Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave, Dothan, AL 36303.

Mr. Simpler was born on February 12, 1953 in Dothan the son of J. Quincy Simpler and Tommie Lee Pitts Simpler. He was retired as a Quality Control Inspector with Michelin Corporation after 35 years of service. Tommy was a 1972 Graduate of Rehobeth High School and was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Dothan.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include: wife, Nancy Johnson Simpler, Dothan; father, J. Quincy Simpler (Ethel) , Dothan; daughter, Amy Simpler Clark (David), Dothan; step-daugther, Tonia Jernigan (Jeff), Huntsville; step-son, Anthony Haney (Candy), Auburn; 2 brothers, Roger Simpler (Judy), Dothan; Phillip Simpler (Kaye), Las Vegas, NV.; sister, Beverly Cook (John), Deer Park, TX.; 4 grandchildren, Georgia Clark, Hunter Medley, Dylan Medley and Sheldon Haney; numerous nieces and nephews; Special Thank you to Staff of Kindred Hospice, Lynda Campbell and Kendra Duke.
