Life Story for Charles Madison Granger

Mr. Charles Madison Granger, age 80, a resident of Ashford, died Friday August 5, 2016 at his residence after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday August 8, 2016 at the Union Hill Baptist Church with Reverend’s Kyle Johnson and Randy Davis officiating. Burial with Air Force Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing.

The family will be receiving friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at Glover Funeral Home Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or www.DAV.org/Donate.
Mr.Granger was born on June 12, 1936 in Gordon the son of Kyle Horton Granger and Ruth Askew Granger. He retired in 1976 as a SMSGT/E-8 from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years of service. Mr. Granger retired as sheet metal instructor & maintenance department from Wallace College in 2000. He was a member of the Union Hill Baptist Church and a 1954 Graduate of Cottonwood High School.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Fleta (Sissy) Johnson; and a brother, Phil Granger.
Survivors include: wife, Evelyn Taylor Granger, Ashford; daughter, Sharon Granger Lee, Dothan; son, Stan Granger (Crickett), Middleburg, FL.; sister, Anne Pittman, Dothan; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
Active pallbearers will be: Danny Taylor, Randy Taylor, Tony Taylor, Brent Taylor, Ricky Moore and Mark Lee.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Senior Adult Men’s Class at Union Hill Baptist Church.
