Life Story for Ethle Elizabeth Armistead Roney

Mrs. Ethel Elizabeth Armistead Roney, age 88, a resident of Extendicare Health & Rehab Center (formerly of Cowarts), died Wednesday August 3, 2016 at Extendicare after an extended illness.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday August 6, 2016 at the Enon Church Cemetery near Webb with Minister Stuart Tullis officiating and Kendall Glover directing. Flowers will be accepted.

Mrs. Roney was born on October 1, 1927 in Clark County the daughter of Walter Eugene Armistead and Mamie Bell Pugh Armistead. She was a member of the Honeysuckle Church of Christ in Dothan. Mrs. Roney was a homemaker and had lived in Houston County for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Roney; sister, Mary Lou Chapman; brother, Gordon Armistead.

Survivors include: special friends & caregivers, Andrea & Brian Parker, Rehobeth; sister-in-law, Minnie Mae Armistead, Grove Hill; niece, Sheryl Armistead, Grove Hill and special grand niece, Peggy Johnson (James), Gadsden.

Pallbearers will be: Brian Parker, Wallace Thomley, Barry Smith, C.J. Smith, James Johnson and J.D. Amerson.
