Life Story for Charles Frank DeCourcy

Mr. Charles Frank DeCourcy, age 84, a resident of Dothan, Alabama (formerly of Ray City, Ga.) died Saturday April 11, 2015 at the Noland Hospital in Dothan after an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday April 16, 2015 at 7 p.m. (EDT) in the Lovein Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville, Ga. with the Dr. Danny Edwards officiating and Lovein Funeral Home directing. Memorial Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. (EDT) Friday April 17, 2015 at the New Ramah Cemetery in Ray City, Ga.

The family will be receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday April 16, 2015 at the Lovein Funeral Home prior to services. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. DeCourcy was born on July 13, 1930 in New Orleans, La. The son of Thomas Newton DeCourcy and Ophelia Olsen DeCourcy. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and received a Purple Heart. Mr. DeCourcy was retired as a Long Shoreman in the shipping industry in New Orleans after 25 years of service and later managed an apartment complex for 10 years in the Chattanooga, Tn. Area. He was a member of the Bemiss Road Baptist Church in Valdosta, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hazel Jeanette DeCourcy; two sisters, Helen Pelley and Loretta Wuretz.

Survivors include: daughter, Carolann Decourcy Roussin (David), Dothan, Al.; sister, Clem Wilky, New Orleans, La.; brother, Thomas DeCourcy, Picayune, Ms.; step-daughter, Rhonda Barre, Harvey, La.; two step-sons, Joseph Sisk, David Sisk, both of Laplace, La.; 4 grandchildren, Shane Garant (Dawn), Stephanie Garant, Melissa Roussin and Michael Roussin (Kim); 12 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren.
