Life Story for Jo Ann Ludlum

Miss Jo Ann Ludlum, age 75, a resident of Dothan, died early Wednesday January 14, 2015 at Westside Terrace after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday January 16, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Wes Kelley officiating and Kendall Glover directing. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church parlor prior to services. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 1380 West Main Street, Dothan, AL. 36301 or to one’s favorite charity.

Miss Ludlum was born on February 1, 1939 in Webb the daughter of Adris Eugene Ludlum and Elizabeth Bell Ludlum. She was a Dothan High School Graduate and a University of Alabama Graduate, while at the university she was a member of the Chi Omega Soriety. Ann was a retired first grade teacher at Houston Academy and she loved playing piano and the organ. In the past she played piano for the men’s Sunday School Class at First United Methodist and also played for Wesley Manor. She was a member of the Pinckard Womens Study Club and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Dothan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jane Pender; a brother, William Edward Ludlum and a sister-in-law, Georgia Ludlum.
Survivors include: brother, Gene Ludlum; two sisters, Carolyn White & Sandra Hanahan; a sister-in-law, Nancy Ludlum; all of Dothan; a brother-in-law, Laurence Pender, Greenwood, FL.; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearer’s will be: Laurence Pender III, Bunk Hanahan, Adris Ludlum, Ingraham Hanahan, Ludlum Hanahan, Brad Beasley, Scott Lambert, Jarrod Hanchey, Laurence Glover, Will Glover and Brook Meadows.
The family would like to express a special thank you to her sitters, Barbara Helms & Mary Ann Jackson; the Staff of Westside Terrace and Covenant Hospice; and a special thank you to Mr. Talmadge Butler who ministered to her at Westside Terrace.
