Life Story for John Edward "Ed" Ward

Mr. John Edward (Ed) Ward, age 68, a resident of Dothan died late Tuesday October 7, 2014 at his residence after an extended illness.

Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday October 11, 2014 in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jean Smith officiating and Kendall Glover directing. The family will be receiving friends from 2:15 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to services in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Research.

Ed was born on September 12, 1946 in Dothan the son of George Seaborn Ward, Sr. and Ida Mae Brown Ward. He worked as a cook with Waffle House (store 168 & 407) in Dothan for over twenty years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Wayne Ward, Sr.

Survivors include: son, Johnathan Ward, Lexington, AL.; sister, Debbie Watson (Lennie), Newton; 7 brothers, George S. Ward, Jr. (Earline), Dothan; Bobby Frank Ward (Teresa), Montgomery; Roy Ward, Kinsey; Tim Ward, Dothan; Tony Ward, Dothan; Todd Ward, Dothan; Tommy Ward, Dothan; special friend & caregiver, Marcia McWhorter, Dothan; special friend, Linda Jones Jueckstock, Dothan; 2 grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Waffle House employees.
